The clip above has been of huge inspiration in regards to colour palette for Compartment. The soft, crushed blacks, and mellowed colour palette provides a sense of poignancy and emotion, whilst still appearing natural and subtle. Similarly, the film utilises natural shadows really well to convey a sense of emotion, and whilst here that emotion is directed towards the elegance of a craft, we feel it can similarly be directed towards the uniqueness of a space. Given that a lot of our interview sequences will be comprised of cutaways to objects and artifacts within the respective apartments, the soft focus and subtle, hand-held aesthetic of this clip is something we hope to emulate throughout our own work.

Also interesting to note is the use of small graphic details added in post-production. The measurements and blue-print style sketches which overlay the footage shift the way the audience engages…
